Worship & Liturgy

scf-liturgy

the work of the people

Join us for our weekly Eucharistic liturgy every Saturday at 5 p.m. at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Our two priests (Jessica and Frank) preside, but the entire assembly is encouraged to participate fully in the liturgy. We believe and try to live liturgy as the “work of the people.”

We have a number of liturgical ministries for adults and children to offer their gifts: lectors, greeters, servers, singers, musicians, Eucharistic ministers, dancers, ushers.

Throughout the year other liturgies and prayer opportunities are offered.

Book Discussion: Liturgy with Style and Grace

All are invited to join in reading and discussing Gabe Huck and Gerald T. Chinchar’s Liturgy with Style and Grace. As a dynamic worshipping community we strive to continue to educate ourselves about liturgical practices and engage the Spirit and one another in discussion. The six sections of the book will guide our six discussion gatherings every other Friday at 12:30 p.m. beginning Friday, January 21. We will meet at Frank’s house (see the directory for directions). Bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy this lunchtime with sisters and brothers from SCF. There are plenty of new and used copies of the book to be found with various book sellers including Amazon.
